God Save our Queen

I've put this one aside from the other portraits as it's a little special to me. Recently I have been getting to a point in my portrait sessions where I feel I have accurately represented the model. This used to take me two hours but now I am able to do it in one. This means I am now comfortable with experimenting with styles and presentation and this is one of the first examples I did this. I was inspired heavily by Leyendecker with his ability to find, simplify and exaggerate shapes within his work to create some dynamic illustrations.

The model was also flaunting his national pride by wearing a Union Jack T-shirt, key chain and shoes. I felt bad I couldn't include them in the image so I gave him a special background instead.
